In the late 1990s our founder read a book by Janine M. Benyus – Biomimicry (1997) – a thoughtful guide on unleashing the emulation of nature’s designs and processes. The book profoundly affected the way he and our founding executive team thought about the use of advances in science and computing power in the design of higher performing and healthier water care solutions for the recreational water industry. It still influences how we explore and think today.
Most of the products we use in our industry were developed more than four or five decades ago. In most cases, we “borrowed” the underlying technologies from other unrelated industries. That was our only option – we developed a few excellent products, but our industry was largely confined to borrowed ideas, with a tweak here and a blend there. That’s all the industry had to work with. But work with it we did.
Advances in biological sciences and computing power have changed all that in a BIG way. We can now solve problems by programming biology specifically for the conditions typically found in recreational water.
This is an industry first, and the beginning of something exceptionally exciting: the design of better performing, healthier, more natural water care products. - “Inspired by Nature – Improved with Biology and Fit for Purpose”
"Water is at the center of every chemical reaction, and therefore should be the earths most precious gift."
